Free college your first year.
That’s our promise to you.

Starting this fall, first-time college students attending Lake Tahoe Community College full time will pay absolutely NO tuition for their first year.

Whether you’re 19 or 49, if you are a first-time college student and a California resident or AB540 eligible, you may qualify for:

• Free tuition for your first year at LTCC
• Unlimited Tahoe Transportation District bus transportation within the South Shore
• Free tutoring, academic counseling and other support services

Now is the ideal time to pursue your dreams of furthering your education.

The Lake Tahoe Chamber of Commerce is exploring ways to provide greater access to affordable housing in the Lake Tahoe area. Tahoe Chamber CEO, Steve Teshara, explains:

From time to time, Tahoe Chamber undertakes a study mission to explore and learn “best practices” from other communities wrestling with challenges similar to the ones we face here at home. This time our focus was on housing.

On June 20-22, we led a delegation of 15 Tahoe-Truckee community leaders to Vail, Breckenridge and Keystone, Colorado, destinations carefully selected for study. Each is a mountain community with at least one major resort, a significant percentage of second homes and short-term rentals, and an inadequate inventory of affordable housing for its workforce and residents.
